A Night of Royal Elegance 2021

Our mission is to create a programme that will let the audience observe each dancer in many different ways highlighting their versatility and technique. Each item is carefully chosen to create a balanced programme reflecting brilliant technique, humour and dramatic intensity to produce an evening of pure artistry.

2. Romeo and Juliet balcony pas de deux (Macmillan).


Yasmie Naghdi & Matthew Ball.


MacMillan made his famous balcony pas de deux for Canadian TV. When it was finished, he went on to choreograph the rest of the ballet for the Covent Garden stage.

3. La Sylphide (Bournonville)


Takada & Joseph Sissens


Filippo Taglioni’s La Sylphide was premiered in Paris in 1932 and was the very first Romantic ballet. Bournonville made his own version just four years later in Copenhagen, not only with new choreography but also with completely different music.
