Dance Tours Productions presents ‘A Night of Royal Elegance 2018’; a showcase event of British Ballet featuring a star-studded line-up of the world’s finest dancers from The Royal Ballet, Covent Garden, London. This is a unique and intimate performance experience.

“Tokyo attracts many international ballet stars, who come to perform galas over the summer. A Night of Royal Elegance is unique. In a relatively small venue, on the dancer's own initiative, this gala had a unique and intimate feel. It proved inspiring for the Japanese public that usually prefers classics. The gala was particularly appealing to the many young students present, with its diverse and unique program”.  Naomi Mori, 11 August 2014

In 2012 with the support of the British Council, The Royal Opera House and The Royal Ballet, Dance Tours Productions achieved its first showcase performance in Japan. As a romantic gesture, this performance was symbolically performed at Kamakura, the birth place of classical ballet in Japan. It was to be the first ever ballet event that had been solely staged by an overseas organisation in Japan without the assistance of any major Japanese producer or production company. Its aim by doing so was to bring a new dimension of classical ballet programming to dance enthusiasts and new audience members in Japan, and to show audiences the unique richness of heritage and versatility of repertoire and movement that The Royal Ballet and its dancers have to offer.

Since then, Dance Tours Productions has gone on to create many major events around the world and returned to Tokyo in 2014. Each time “A Night of Royal Elegance” has achieved sold-out success and received a unanimous standing ovation for its achievements by its audience.

Three years later "A Night of Royal Elegance' which impressed all the audience and ballet fans is finally coming back to Japan with nine of the top dancers from The Royal Ballet who are currently considered to represent British ballet. This is an event not to be missed!

  • Truly great show, everything a gala should be. By turns so moving emotionally, with thrilling pieces performed with great panache, but also high wire comedy which had audiences falling off their seats. Indeed, by the final curtain the happy audience were out of their seats altogether, giving the dancers a very loud and appreciative standing ovation which rang to the rafters. David Long, 2016.
